NovaNet Independent Learning Lab
& Credit Recovery (Summer School)
Description:
Our Independent Learning Lab utilizes NovaNET, a computer-based academic program that offers a huge database of high school course offerings in English, mathematics, science and social studies. Students proceed through the courses at a self-determined pace. Inventory assessments at the beginning of each learning module prescribe lessons in the student’s area of weakness. MPCE will issue credit towards a high school diploma upon completion of the course.
In addition to high school completion and credit recovery, a GED preparation program is available. Like the high school courses, the GED prep courses are prescriptive.
- NovaNET courses vary in degree of difficulty and average time for completion.
- Textbooks and other instructional materials may be used to supplement NovaNET course work.
- A lab instructor will be present in all NovaNET labs.
- Credit is granted to student transcript only upon completion of NovaNET course requirements.
- Some NovaNET courses may be taken on a no-credit basis for remediation of basic skills.
- It is the student’s responsibility to discuss credit recovery courses and credits with their own high school guidance counselor.
Learning Lab Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8: 30 p.m.

Recovery Refferal Form, complete the form with your High School Counselor and bring signed & completed form
(along with payment if applicable) to MPCE, 1651 S. Bamber Rd.
Lab Days & Hours:
August - May: Open enrollment, open lab is available from 3:30pm - 8:30pm M-Th.
Summer '08: June 23 - Jul. 31, M-Th;
8:00AM - 1:00PM
Summer enrollment ends June 27, 2008 or when class is full.
